Mark Atkins - President
Mark Atkins founded ISOQuest Consulting Services in 1997, providing management system development, training, technical writing, and auditing services; specializing in assisting food and beverage companies with quality and food safety systems compliant with ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, SQF Code, BRC, IFS and HACCP. Mark has conducted over four hundred ISO 9001 registration audits and 2nd party audits for companies in the food, beverage, chemical, paper and printing, compressed gases, electronics, and service industries. He has served as a consultant and trainer for over 100 food and food packaging manufacturing plants that achieved registration to a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard (FSSC 22000, BRC, IFS, SQF). Since ISOQuest was founded, Mark has never had client fail a certification audit.
In total Mark has 40 years experience in quality and food safety management systems. His educational and work background prior to founding ISOQuest includes acquiring an M.B.A. from Queens College and a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Elon University. He has worked for Phillip Morris Tobacco Company where he was in charge of Supplier Quality, Primary Processing, Flavor, and Quality Assurance groups in a plant with over 3000 employees. Prior to founding ISOQuest, Mark led Tropicana through the first successful ISO 9001 certification in the citrus processing & packaging industry in the United States. Mark currently resides in Charleston, South Carolina.
